Trancio Di Pesce

I love this place. It's one of the few remnants of pre-tech San Francisco. Amazing food, reasonable prices, friendly people and fun environment. I bring friends here about once per month and every person I've introduced to this place has loved it. The back patio is especially wonderful. Plenty of ventilation for those that are still concerned about Covid, but covered and warm. It's like actually going to Italy without getting on a plane.

Agnolotti Al Plin

I am Italian and I discovered this place some weeks ago. It became my favorite place ever in San Francisco to eat Agnolotti! Amazing!

Tortelli alle erbe e noci

Light and delicate, this dish had the perfect ratio of pasta to filling - and a generous portion too!

Petto D'anatra

I've loved everything they serve here, and the duck was no exception. Tender, rich, and served with creamy mashed potatoes and a deliciously salty demi glace. I asked for a wine recommendation and they gave me a Malbec, which went very well. The image they have shows a lot of vegetables, but my meal tonight was served with (if I remember the description correctly) cocoa-roasted carrots on mashed potatoes, with a half a marinated poached pear. This is my second time having the duck, and definitely not the last.

Petto D'anatra

Probably the best restaurant duck I have ever had. Nice presentation, and the sides and the poached pear really made it. Also had the HH Agnolotti for a happy hour appetizer, along with the house red wine. As in Italy, the house red wine is more flavorful than the specialty wines offered in most American restaurants.

Tagliolini vongole, cime di rapa & bottarga

Amazing! I had dinner with 6 friends and I got the tagliolini, but my friends ordered different dishes so we tried a bit of everything. Each single dish was so delicious. Stuff friendly and welcoming. Will go back!

Tagliatelle Al Ragu "Della Nonna"

I heard about Poesia from someone in an establishment in the Castro. She had given me a glowing recommendation so I went off word of mouth and dined in on a Saturday, Oct 29. When I arrived the atmosphere immediately sucked me in and I was seated by two very courteous workers who suggested the bar upstairs. I, of course, had a few drinks before my meal and they were refreshing opening up my appetite for my dinner. I ordered the Tagliatelle Al Ragu "Della Nonna" after asking Amy the bartender what her favorite meal is and what she would recommend. The pasta was delicious and there was a rich, balanced, and not too overwhelming ragu in every bite. I was very hungry when I began to eat and it hit the spot! I can myself coming back again for a full meal of appertivos, drinks, dinner, and dessert. This would be a great date night spot!
